Terms of Service

Draft, 2026

Draft template, pending legal review. This page is a starting point, not legal advice. Bracketed details and the governing terms must be completed and reviewed by a qualified lawyer before this is relied upon.

These terms govern your access to and use of Citanto's website and services. By using them, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Citanto provides software for Generative Engine Optimization: auditing AI visibility, generating content, and tracking how brands appear in AI assistants. The service is provided by [Legal entity], [registered address] ("Citanto", "we", "us").

Citanto is in early access. Features may change, and some capabilities described on the site may be in development; where that is the case it is labelled.

2. Accounts and eligibility

To use parts of the service you may need an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be legally able to enter into these terms and use the service in compliance with applicable law.

3. Subscriptions, pricing and payment

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis as described at the point of purchase. Prices shown during early access are early-access prices and may change with notice. Payment is handled by our payment processor; you authorise the applicable charges for the plan you choose.

Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. You can cancel a renewal before the next billing date.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you agree not to:

  • use the service unlawfully or to infringe others' rights;
  • attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service;
  • resell or expose the service except as expressly permitted (for example under an agency plan);
  • submit content you have no right to use.

5. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the content and data you provide. You grant Citanto the limited licence needed to operate the service for you (for example, to process a website you ask us to audit, or to generate and store drafts).

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual property

The service, including its software, design and content (excluding your content), is owned by Citanto or its licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service in accordance with these terms.

7. Confidentiality

Each party may receive non-public information from the other in connection with the service. Each party agrees to protect the other's confidential information and to use it only as needed to provide or use the service.

8. Service availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend or discontinue parts of the service, and will give reasonable notice of material changes where practical.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. GEO results depend on factors outside our control (how AI assistants rank and cite sources), and we do not warrant any particular ranking, citation or outcome. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Citanto's aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid for the service in the [period] preceding the claim. Citanto is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms. On termination, the rights granted to you end; clauses that by their nature should survive (such as IP, confidentiality and liability) continue.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and the courts of [jurisdiction] have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Contact
